MAYOR'S MESSAGE Bristol, Tennessee- Our hometown Over the years, the City of Bristol, Tennessee has had some great accomplishments, both large and small, but the one we are most honored by is being known as the city that our residents and businesses call home. Bristol is home to 26,666 residents who chose to live in our beautiful part of the Appalachians to live and raise their families. Bristol is home to more than 3,300 businesses owners who could have chosen many other alternative sites, but decided to plant their roots here where we are committed to partner with them in their success. Bristol is home to award-winning events known around the world, such as the NASCAR races hosted at Bristol Motor Speedway and the annual Rhythm and Roots Reunion. Our focus is on ensuring that our city continues to be the one that you are proud to call your hometown, now and into the future. We have a great foundation to build from made possible by those who have so willingly served before me and worked diligently to create a solid base from which we all can grow and prosper. We intend to keep the wheels of progress moving forward. Just in this past year, we have seen over 2,600 new jobs created within the city limits of Bristol, Tennessee. With our economic prosperity, smart growth, ability to continue new infrastructure projects, and stable workforce, we are stronger than we have ever been before. We are committed to solid fiscal management, economic development, and dedication to community engagement. We have vision, leadership, and performance standards which will allow us to move forward at a steady pace, all while delivering our services in a cost effective manner. Government should be responsive, cooperative, and culturally and environmentally sensitive, all while embracing the highest standards of integrity and accountability to those we serve. Please take some time to review this annual activity report and consider all the reasons you and I should be proud to call this city, Bristol, Tennessee, our hometown. All the best,
