Independence Day

July 2, 2015 Bill Sorah

Independence Day, a day for apple pie, picnics, fireworks and a time to thank  those who have served to grant us our continued freedom.

There is a wide array of family activities planned for the Bristol community by a huge group of volunteers who give up their holiday to make ours an even better one. A big thank you goes out to them!  There is a community picnic and a great parade planned with a professional fireworks show later in the evening along with lots of other activities.

Remember safety comes first, if you are going to a rural area to set off fireworks, please go to our website to find fireworks safety tips on the Fire Department’s webpages or watch BTN-TV’s  “Fireworks Safety”  on channel 16 on BTES or channel 192 on Charter. Please remember too, that fireworks are illegal within the city limits of Bristol, Tennessee.

Happy 4th of July, I hope you and your family have a fun and safe holiday!
